Here is a February checklist you can use to keep your parent council organized.
February Checklist
- Conduct an executive board meeting in February for a midyear budget review
- When is your school’s 100th day of school? Talk with the principal about what role your parent council can play in celebrating this milestone
- Firm up any plans you may have if your school council is helping with Valentine’s Day celebrations
- Consider a simple winter event, such as ice-skating, and provide hot chocolate and small treats
- Setup a booth during parent-teacher interviews. Consider providing refreshments to both parents and students
- Remind parents of kindergarten registration
- Considering a spring carnival? Schedule a meeting to get the event planning kicked off
- Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 14-20, 2021) by leaving a note or small treat in staff mailboxes. Get students involved and encourage them to leave a kind note to their peers or their teachers
- Form a committee to plan your teacher appreciation events in May
